1 Samuel 3: 1-10.
Whilst we might be able to multi-task with some things, when it comes to listening, it needs our full attention. God didn’t give us two ears so that we could half listen to two things at the same time! We can only fully hear the voice of the Lord when we listen properly, but as Michael Frost points out, “For many people, listening to the Holy Spirit is like trying to hear the radio in a busy coffee shop. You can hear the announcer’s voice, but you have to strain to make out what she’s saying over the hubbub of the other patrons”. How can we listen more fully to the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking into our lives?
This week’s task: “I will spend at least one period of the week listening for the Spirit’s voice”
