Acts 1:1 – 11.
As Jesus spoke to his disciples in person for the last time on earth, he declared that the power and authority for them to keep being his disciples and disciple-makers would be given to them through the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:7-8).
Yet, as they looked into the sky in total bewilderment and Jesus ascended into heaven, they needed a nudge to help them remember their ongoing purpose. We saw in Hebrews 11 how those who had gone before them lived by faith and so accomplished all that the Lord asked of them.
In Revelation 2 the church in Ephesus is praised for persevering in the face of many challenges. How do we compare?
