At the end of Matthew’s Gospel, the risen Christ – the Lord, to whom all authority in heaven and on earth has been given – appears to his disciples and commissions them. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit they are to enable others to become his disciples – i.e. to live under his lordship, following his ways and having life in all its fullness (John. 10:10). Each of us is called to share in God’s mission so that His kingdom might come. So, what are we doing?
