Ephesians 1:15-23; 3:14-21.
There has been a common thread running through Paul’s letters that we’ve looked at so far. In each one there is something said to bring correction, and even rebuke, over what the church had become in those places. That doesn’t happen in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. Instead, his whole focus is on encouraging and building up the Body of Christ. He does that with a clear focus on thanksgiving and prayer as a starting point (1:15-23), and in a major transition point in the letter, the focus is on prayer again (3:14-21), where Paul’s concern is that the church will know a deeper and fuller experience of the fulness and presence of God in all that they do.
How are we doing by comparison?
